Cheryl McMullin took up the post of Practice Learning Centre Manger in (Bryson CareWest) in September 2013. A new relationship was forged with Siobhan Wylie Senior Practice Learning Centre Manger in Bryson Care unifying the two practice learning centres.
The main aspects of the role include the strategic development the Practice Learning Centre as a central tenet for voluntary sector social work education and training. The management of the contractual obligations with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council; fulfilling responsibilities associated with the Designated Practice Learning Provider Scheme, and meeting the NISCC Standards for Practice Learning Providers. It is essential to develop strong working partnerships with Associate Providers and other key stakeholders; to facilitate the day-to-day and strategic management of the Practice Learning Centre. The centre has experienced independent practice teachers who offer professional supervision and support to students on placement.
